Welcome!

Hi.  Welcome and thanks for visiting.  This section is all about me.  I like programming, specifically Web Applications.  My favorite scripting language is PHP, with a MySQL backend.  I'm also very fascinated with Cloud Computing and the direction that it's headed over the next 10 years.

Education:

B.S. in Computer Science in 2003 from Eastern Michigan University

Career:

My first job out of college was a network engineering position with a communications company that supports the lodging industry within the Midwest.  It was mainly a hands-on position where I learned how to design, maintain, and troubleshoot networks in a large scale environment.  At the time this position was challenging and not necessarily the direction that I wanted to go in my career.  Looking back however, this position gave me great insight into the physical topology of networks and potential problems that may arise.

From this position, I transitioned to a large security company which was responsible for the management of firewalls and IDS devices for medium and enterprise business.  Again, it was a challenging position, and I found myself in a familiar role - Is security the direction that I want to take in my career path?  This company was soon purchased by a larger, international IT company.  The experience of the merger allowed me to see firsthand how a company can change right in front of your eyes.  Not in a bad way.  It's just that the smaller company had to make a series of changes in a short amount of time.  The answer to the above question was eventually revealed.  I was exposed to a great deal of knowledge and this position gave me great awareness of truly how dangerous it is on the cloud.  It was eventually time for me to move on in the specific direction that I wanted to.

I eagerly wanted to gain a position in medium sized business which dealt with the application and UI side of web development.  And that is exactly what I did.  I currently work for a university and am responsible for creating and maintaining online web applications for our department.  I help bring solutions to staff and management that aid in establishing efficiency and data consolidation within of our office.
